Jessica Edwards
What’s this, twenty questions?… Here is the fabulous British model Jessica Edwards. Fresh from her recent shoot with Lance, Jessica was kind enough to speak to AM and give us a little insight into her life and her world of modeling. AM: Hi Jessica, thanks for speaking with us! JE: No problems, thanks for inviting me to talk today! AM: So where are you from/ based? JE: I am from Nottingham. AM: Tell us an interesting thing or two about yourself! JE: I enjoy loving life and being free. I love travelling and seeing different cultures and lifestyles. AM: Do you have a favourite model/ actor/ singer/ musician or regular person who inspires you? JE: A true inspiration of mine is Angelina Jolie. She is extremely beautiful and has a kind, caring, genuine personality. AM: Does being where you are from influence your modelling career in any way? JE: No, not really! I just have a true passion for modelling. I love being in front of the camera. AM: What made you decide to get into modelling? JE: I decided to get into modelling as I have always wanted to be a model. I am very comfortable and confident in front of a camera. I always knew modelling was for me. AM: What would be your ultimate photoshoot? JE: My ultimate photoshoot would be modelling for YSL, Dior or Versace. Also, I love the idea of a beach photoshoot. AM: What do your family and friends think about you modelling? JE: My family and friends love the fact that I model. My mum and dad are extremely supportive. They encourage me to pursue a career in modelling full-time. AM: Do you think it is important for models, photographers, and other creatives who are working together to have strong working relationships and to support each other? JE: Yes, as when you are on set it is nice to have extra support. Also, it makes you feel more comfortable so you become more confident and it’s easier to make good pictures when you are comfortable. AM: What would be the worst thing you could be asked to do on a photoshoot, what would freak you out? JE: Holding a spider or a snake. I hate creepy crawlies! AM: What is your favourite thing about modelling so far? JE: My favourite thing about modelling is seeing how amazing the pictures are at the end of a photo-shoot. I work hard when I am modelling so it is nice to see how good the pictures are. AM: What is the toughest part of a model’s job? JE: The toughest part of a model’s job is availability. Sometimes I get asked to do photoshoots in the evening, the day before the shoot! AM: What would be your favourite place for a photoshoot? JE: The beach on a sunny day! AM: What do you think is your greatest strength/ best attribute as a person or as a model? JE: I am very easy to get along with. I am genuine and fun. Also, I believe my face is easy to adapt to every different photoshoot. I can accommodate lots of different looks. AM: How do you feel about the amount of travel involved in modelling? JE: I do not mind travelling for modelling, as I drive. AM: How do you handle rejection as a model? (Have you had to?) JE: I have not had to handle rejection as a model so far, I am approached by companies via my agency as they have seen my pictures elsewhere. AM: If you could change one thing about the industry, what might it be? JE: The height runway models have to be and the stigma around slim models. I enjoy seeing photos of models of all different sizes. AM: Do you have a back up plan if the modelling doesn’t work out long term? JE: I work in insurance part time so this is something I can always fall back on. AM: What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing? JE: I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy going to the gym and travelling. I am extremely outgoing so I love spending time with people and exploring. AM: What do you look for in a project, or photographers work before you agree to collaborate with them? JE: I like to see how professional a photographer is before I agree to working with them. Also, I look at their reviews to see if they are legit. I am open to all types of projects so I like to look at previous work. AM: What did you enjoy most about shooting with Lance for this collaboration? JE: I enjoyed how fast we were able to get the most perfect pictures. Lance was very easy to get along with. He is probably one of the best people I have shot with. Very relaxed, confidence boosting and extremely professional. Thanks Jessica!
